The beautiful couple below – Danielle and Jon – are getting married in Las Vegas this year. I am excited for two reasons – one, I have never been to Vegas before! Two – what photographer wouldn’t be lucky for the chance to work with these two?! We had a great time on the beach, and Jon and Danielle were terrific models. Can’t wait for the wedding in May!

I had the best session today with Codi and Cisco! After loosening up a bit, this couple let it all hang out. The shots below have been censored, for your own benefit. 
Part of the reason I love engagement shoots is that I get a chance to know the couple before their wedding day. These two are so fun to hang out with! Can you tell from their pictures?

I am always excited when I am able to obtain awesome tools and equipment that help my business, but my latest acquisition has almost put me over the edge with giddiness. I have been looking into purchasing some new actions for the past year – they are TOTALLY RAD, and now they are mine!
New actions are like candy for the photographer in me. Here are a few samples from Shayna and Mike’s engagement session:

This week, my daughter turned six. She had a wonderful birthday, and it reminded me about the difference between her childhood and mine. Although I feel that I was very happy growing up, Tariah’s father and I have definitely been able to provide more for her (and little sister Thayana) than our parents were able to for us. I am certainly thankful for that fact.
Welcome to being six, baby girl. I hope every year is better than the last.

Shayna and Mike are getting married this year in September, and I am fortunate enough to be shooting their wedding! We had a wonderful time in downtown Sacramento during their engagement session. Everywhere you turn, there is something interesting to see! And Shayna and Mike were both SO patient with me and all of my ideas. I am definitely looking forward to their wedding!

I had an awesome time shooting Katrina and Jason this weekend. They are expecting their first baby next month – a sweet little girl named Lilly. I have so many more shots from our session, but not enough time to post them!

As if Starbucks doesn’t have a strong enough hold on our pocketbooks when it comes to our daily caffeine fix, they also have a knack for coming up with other tasty treats to tempt us away from a healthy lifestyle. I rate their Valentine’s Day cupcakes right up there with the Cranberry Bliss Bars in winter time and Carmelita Bars in the summer. (For those of you who have no idea what I am referring to, YES – I realize I spend WAAAAAAY too much time at Starbucks. It is unhealthy, I understand.)
Lucky me, I room with two “Starbuckians”, as I like to call them. And wouldn’t you know that one of them brought home a whole container FULL of these tasty cupcakes one evening! I like to call these babies Starbuck’s version of a Hostess cupcake on steroids. Now go get one!
