Here’s a quick little post about a friend of mine who contacted me about doing her acting head shots. Lindsay is my former co-worker, and is one of the sweetest, most generous souls I have ever met. She’s the person who is quick to volunteer the organization of a birthday night out on the town or even something as simple as a necessary mid-day Taco Bell run. So I was extremely flattered when she contacted me last week about getting some head shots done – apparently I was the first person she thought of. :-)

Lindsay is taking acting classes in Sacramento, and is already acting in and working on the set of a film that is being shot locally. Good luck to her in her endeavors in the entertainment industry!

Also: stay tuned for another awesome post from Lisa and Jessie’s wedding – I just received a disk full of incredible shots from my second, Calvina. Can’t wait to see what she came up with!

Last Saturday I spent my evening with this Tammy and her family. Scott and Tammy are expecting their second little boy, Ryder, in August.

Doesn’t Tammy have one of the most beautiful bellies you have ever seen?!

Tyler is an AMAZING little boy! He was so much fun during the session, and his laughter is completely contagious. At times I was laughing so hard that I couldn’t even hold my camera up! I can imagine how adorable the new little bundle will be if he is anything like older brother Tyler.

Thanks to Tammy, Scott, and Tyler for welcoming me into their home for such a fun session and a yummy dinner!

I had a feeling that Lisa and Jessie’s special day would be amazing, and I have to admit that I am extremely happy that I was so right. When I arrived at Miner’s Foundry, I was blown away by the rustic beauty of the place. I definitely recommend it to any couples out there who are looking for an awesome spot to have their shindig! Calvina assisted me again, and we both agreed the the Foundry was gorgeously lit with natural light. What a treat for us! That paired with a terrific group of people makes for one very successful wedding session. :-)

I am anticipating a second part to this post just because I AGAIN have so many favorites to choose from. This is what I love about this job. :-) In addition, I am sure that I will be posting some of Calvina’s shots in the second part. Until then, enjoy!

This shot is one of my absolute FAVES! I loved the dark theater area, and Lisa’s beautiful dress absolutely popped in this room!

Lisa’s friends and family had worked so hard on all of the little details for this wedding. I had to get a shot of the detail work that Lisa’s mom had done on her veil…

This year has been full of awesome weddings to look forward to, but this one is definitely one that I have been anticipating the most! Lisa and Jessie have decided to hold their celebration at Miner’s Foundry in Nevada City, California. The town itself has an old, rustic air to it, and the Foundry is sure to not disappoint either! I have been dreaming for weeks about the kinds of shots we will capture…

Ok, enough daydreaming – let’s get on to the important part… The couple! Lisa and Jessie had a beautiful session close to my home today. Since Lisa had lived in this area during a large part of her life, she decided she wanted her engagement session to take place here in Marysville. I am often reluctant to shoot in the same location over and over, but I often find so many new places to explore here. This town never leaves me feeling let-down! And much to my delight, Lisa and Jessie were naturals in front of the camera. :-)

These next two shots caused me to become slightly giddy. Lisa’s color palette for the wedding includes red and chocolate brown. Yay for vibrant red walls!

Lisa and Jessie, I could have gone on and on with this session – you were terrific models! Thank you so much for being such a wonderful couple. I can not WAIT for your wedding on Sunday!

Oh, my – I am having a blast with this wedding! I was excited to get a preview from Jennifer (my second shooter) tonight! This post is a combination of our talents, available for your viewing pleasure. :-)

A few detail shots, from Jen’s point of view:

And then a few from my perspective:

This image is one of my favorites, for sure. Not just because of the intimacy of the shot, but because I LOVE the edit! For anyone who is interested, it’s part of the Totally Rad actions. Don’t buy them because I said so – buy them because they TOTALLY ROCK! This one is called Super Old Skool:

And finally, part of the reason I LOVE this crowd is because they know how to party! The shindig was amazing, mostly due to the AWESOME people I got to work with!

So in conclusion, thank you Indica and Mason for totally rocking my Saturday night. Yours was an evening worth remembering – I had a blast!

I met Mason at Camille and George’s wedding last September. When Indica contacted me a couple months ago about their wedding, I was thrilled to be working with the same crowd again. This group is so much fun, and they always make me feel so welcome!

The wedding was held at The Heirloom Inn. The Inn has beautiful grounds and is available for use at an excellent price. Indica and Mason had decided on a rockabilly theme for their wedding, adding an extra touch of fun to the event. I have a secret fondness for anything with a pin-up or 50′s theme, so I expect to see more related work in the future. :-)

I have a feeling a second part to this post will be included later because I had so many favorites! I also had a guest shooter with me today, and I am hoping to be able to post a couple of Jennifer’s shots after she gets a preview up.

Indica was so radiant!
