I love the fact that we have a Wii – it’s fun for helping get fit, entertainment, and especially family time. Unfortunately, my youngest has become slightly addicted to the console (and pretty much any other electronic game out there). There have been days that she has thrown temper tantrums over not being able to play “her Wii”, and the first punishment that comes to mind in any disciplinary situation with her generally leads to Wii restriction. We even went as far as moving the Wii from the “Wii room” to our bedroom. She has been doing better lately though – probably because Luke and I often work to divert her attention to other activities. However, some evenings it’s even downright cute to see her play the games. Here are the two girls chillin’ on my bed (you can see Tariah stretched across the pillows in the background):

I’m really working on spending some time with my new toy (the 50mm 1.2), so low-light situations like the ones above are awesome for pulling it out. I have more shots coming from all my practice this week, and I have to say that this lens is a completely different animal than any I have ever worked with. I look forward to mastering it!

Nikita’s Senior Session

Meet my beautiful cousin Nikita – she’s preparing for her graduation in the next couple of months. I can’t believe she’s ready to leave high school already – I’ve watched her grow up into a lovely, talented young lady with lots of spunk. I was excited when my aunt contacted me to take Nikita’s portraits in the Stockton area. I am so lucky to have such gorgeous models in the family!

Best of luck to my sweet cousin – her future is sure to be bright.

I had so many family sessions this past holiday season that I didn’t have the time to post half of them. This is a blessing, of course, in so many ways! Since this is my slow season, I am able to go back to those sessions I missed and post them for everyone to enjoy. The next couple of months will be very busy also, with engagement and family sessions, and weddings picking up again. So I promise to be better about posting now that I will have some material to work with. :-)

This darling duo is one that I worked with fall 2008 also. Here is a shot from their session that year:

Ryan and Ronan are growing like weeds, and their personalities rock. Ryan gave me a great dose of his charm previously, but I have to say that his younger brother’s personality truly came out this year. These guys are so sweet, adorable, and well-behaved that they make me want a little boy SO badly! Well… Not just yet. :-) Thanks to Jeromy (the boys’ father) for giving me the opportunity to capture Ryan and Ronan again. Watching them grow is such a treat for me.

I couldn’t decide if I liked this one better in color or black and white, so I posted both. :-) They have the most awesome smiles!

HAD to post this one – I’m sure mom and dad loved the shot of their boys sharing!

More family sessions to come, and perhaps a few of MY family too!
