I originally met this little family at a wedding a couple years ago. Cole was a small baby then, and I was so surprised last week to see just how much he has changed. In just two years, he has become an amazingly smart and energetic toddler. I was entertained endlessly last Thursday evening by Cole’s advanced singing skills and the way that he pursued every bit of information that he came in contact with in his little world. With him, everything was a new adventure. And he went after it all enthusiastically. :-)

Valerie’s sister Katie is a big part of the reason for their family session – she is in the Navy, heading back out to Virginia in a few days. She was only on leave for a short time, and she will be shipping out to Spain in November. So having some nice pictures of Katie before she leaves was certainly high on Valerie’s priority list.

I loved watching Brandon and Cole interact. Their fun, spontaneous personalities were so much fun to capture!

Here’s a little peek at Heather and Brenden’s session from this weekend. This awesome couple is getting married at the romantic Wine and Roses in Lodi this September, and I’m totally stoked about it!

Thank you, Heather and Brenden, for having so much faith in me and my (sometimes silly) ideas. I am sure we will have just as much fun at your wedding in a few months. :-)

This is my little sister Jeniece. She’s ten years younger than I, and one of the sweetest girls ever. Recently, she and her long-term boyfriend Tony became engaged and they will be getting married in a few weeks. My family loves Tony, and we are so happy that Jeniece has found someone who keeps her happy. Best wishes to you both… I love you, and make sure to stay close enough for me to visit!

Here’s a little preview for Jen and Brian. I seriously had SUCH a hard time narrowing this down, and there were so many more awesome shots that I wanted to include. More to see soon, you two! Thank you for letting Calvina and I be a part of your special day. :-)

This is my favorite makeup artist, Sunshine. I passed her name on to Jen, and I was so excited to work with her again! Any brides interested in an awesome makeup person, let me know! You can find her on Facebook under “Il Bello”.

Joleen and I had been emailing back and forth literally for months trying to set up this session, and I am so happy we finally were able to get it done!

I have been friends with Joleen for years. We met while in the photography program at Sac State, and I have to say that she was my favorite college buddy. I remember when we were taking Roger Vail’s evening History of Photography class, and we would take turns popping popcorn to enjoy during the three hours of slideshows. Roger used to give us the evil eye and ask us where his popcorn was. Let’s just say that a couple of extra bags of popcorn may have helped us score some extra points in that class. :-)

Joleen’s family has grown SO MUCH in the past few years. She and Jason welcomed Athena into the world in the fall of 2005, and this year they added their new little boy about a week after our session. Congratulations to such a beautiful family!

Congrats to some local grads who came to me for their photo sessions! Andrew is a Williams High School Senior this year. He’s a quiet guy, but shared some of his interests with me during our time together. This year, Andrew was talented enough to be singled out for his abilities on the football field, and he’s looking forward to attending a local college and continuing his football career there.

I have known Megan for a couple years now – a total sweetheart, I’m tellin’ you! She’s participating in Chico State’s graduation ceremony this spring with a Bachelor’s in Exercise Physiology. And she’s not done yet – next it’s Athletic Training in grad school so she can become a Certified Athletic Trainer. Go Megan!
