Archive for November, 2010

As my year of photography is coming to a close, I am super thankful for all the awesome clients who have trusted me with capturing their memories. My job is (in my opinion) the best job in the world. I get to travel, spend time with amazing people, and receive their gratitude when they allow ME to shoot their special events. How could this job get any better?!

In additon, the demand for my work is increasing steadily as my clients continue to pass on my name to their friends and family. Those people who have made it a solid habit to refer me out to others have been the foundation of my business. You all know who you are, and I can’t begin to tell you how special you are to me. I feel blessed to know that there are so many people out there who believe in me and the quality of work that I do.

Because I am fortunate to have a job that I love, I have been reluctant in the past to raise my prices. I have been told that the quality of my work and the packages I provide are worth far more than I charge, however, I pride myself on giving the best possible packages to my clients. As of January 1st 2011, my small session prices will increase to $200.00. They still include travel to the greater Sacramento area and the counties of Colusa, Sutter, and Yuba. Small travel fees may apply for any sessions out of this area. I’m still offering what I have always offered in a fun and upbeat photo session with amazing memories being captured for your family to enjoy. Weddings and other large events take extra special handling, so please contact me if you would like to discuss your event.

In close, I hope everyone is thoroughly enjoying their holiday seasons. And what kind of post would this be if I didn’t include a fun image at the end? This is my best friend’s daughter, and we grabbed this shot last-minute before the sun went down. She looks so peaceful to me.

It’s a Happy Thanksgiving post!

I had an awesome time this summer in Sonoma while shooting Stacey and Shawn’s engagement session. (If you missed that post, you can find it here.) The wedding this October was just as beautiful. Stacey and Shawn chose an amazing destination location for their ceremony, and so many of their friends and family flew to join them. Seeing so many people come together to celebrate this couple was completely heart-warming… And totally understandable. Being my first couple from the Colusa County area that I have had the pleasure of capturing, I was also incredibly pleased to find out what beautiful hearts these two have. I feel blessed to be a part of this special day in the amazing journey of their life together.

Another blessing was being able to shoot beside the awesome Calvina. This post only contains my images, but I am sure that after I see Calvina’s shots from the day, there may have to be a part two. :-) In addition, you can probably see her hiding in some of my images below if you look closely.

Congratulations to Stacey and Shawn – you two deserve the wonderful family and friends you have by your sides.

The ceremony took place alongside an awesome orchid garden at Plantation Gardens Restaurant:

The blooms could be found everywhere. It was so gorgeous. <3

Stacey and Shawn’s ring bearer wasn’t too interested in pictures, but Shawn is a GREAT uncle already, and he “flew” the little guy right into the picture. :-)

Time for some one-on-one time at the beach:

And then it was back to the restaurant for yummy food and drinks and the friends and family I spoke of earlier!

Here’s a little preview for the Arnolds. This is such a sweet little family. And I know if I don’t post it now, it will probably never happen – especially with this crazy wedding season the way it has been! Enjoy!

In case my loyal readers don’t remember this family from their first session back in May, here is the post. I immediately caught on to the fact that Cole was very smart for his age (and also a VERY energetic two-year-old), but in just five short months he has changed so much! Cole’s third birthday is right around the corner, and he is just too smart! At more than one point in the session, Cole pointed to the sky and told us whether the airplane above us was a propeller or an engine plane. I was blown away! In addition, Cole has warmed up to my camera quite a bit. Valerie brought mini M&M’s to tame the wild child in order to get some good shots, but he NEVER NEEDED IT. He was amazing right up to the very end. Yay Cole! I’m so appreciative to have clients like this little family. They were so much fun!

Mom busts out the candy… And he really wasn’t that interested! He wanted to play!

I love this little face. I hope that if I have a boy, he’s half as cute and smart as this one!
