Maternity Session by Jessica Cole

In the last couple of years, I promised myself that I would make sure that I had nice family portraits for my home. It’s just like with any other occupation – you are so busy working for your clients that you forget to make sure and do for yourself also. So when fellow photographer Jessica Cole proposed a photo session swap, I was thrilled! I had taken photos of her and her family on the beach in Santa Cruz last August (which I have still not blogged, but have every intention of doing so now that I am not shooting for the next few months). I chose to wait a little bit longer for my session since I knew that I was going to want some nice maternity pictures by the best maternity and newborn photographer in the area. These shots are definitely worth the wait! Thank you, Jessica, for the awesome photo shoot and precious memories that we will always cherish.
I also want to remind all of my clients that I am currently on maternity leave from shooting for the next few months. I will still be available through email and phone, and I am able to attend meetings if necessary. If you have any inquiries about future wedding or photo session dates, please do not hesitate to contact me as soon as possible. I am already booking small sessions for the end of April and into May, and weddings are booking all year long.

Lyndsey and Eric – Engagement Session, Lodi, California

I started my afternoon with Lyndsey and Eric at a Lodi winery. It was uncharacteristically warm and sunny for a late January day, but we definitely weren’t complaining! This beautiful couple became engaged recently while touring the wineries in the Lodi area. I was impressed with Eric’s technique – while they were tasting, he had tied Lyndsey’s engagement ring around the base of her wine glass. What a romantic. 
These two will be tying the knot at one of Lodi’s premier wedding venues – Wine and Roses. Congrats to Lyndsey and Eric!
Breanne and John – Engagement Session, Sacramento, California

Over the past few months, Breanne and John have recounted the story of their meeting and blooming relationship a couple of times. I love hearing how my clients got together – whether they were childhood friends/sweethearts, met through mutual friends, or with the help of more modern devices such as internet dating sites. Bre and John? They met at the gym. In 2006, Bre was working out at her local 24 Hour Fitness when she was assigned a tall, handsome trainer. Of course, that trainer was John. They were in contact on and off until a trip to Vegas in 2008, where they randomly ran into each other and ended up hanging out. After that, the relationship became more and more serious and recently they became engaged. The two will be holding their wedding celebration at Sun City Roseville’s Timber Creek Ballroom at the end of June.
Congrats to you, Breanne and John! I’m definitely looking forward to spending your special day with you!
Liz and Keith – Engagement Session, Sutter, California

Trying new things during sessions is always fun for a photographer. Finding an exciting location that hasn’t been used before, bringing in new props, and adding in fun personalities definitely makes for an interesting day. This couple is also extra special to me because the groom is family. Keith chose well when he decided to marry Elizabeth, and we couldn’t be more ecstatic to welcome her to the family. Their wedding celebration will take place this coming September, and I am honored to be asked to shoot their celebration. Congratulations, Liz and Keith! And thank you for rocking my afternoon!

Ashley and Nick – December 26, 2010 – Timber Creek Ballrooms, Roseville, Ca

Didn’t get enough of the engagement session from my last blog entry? Well here’s the wedding! Ashley and Nick were married less than a week after we completed their engagement session. Ashley was a radiant bride, and Nick is certainly proud to have her by his side! It’s unfortunate that my second shooter was primarily in charge of capturing the boys that day – they looked super sharp also.
We felt a certain amount of luck the day after Christmas when the weather held long enough for us to grab all of the shots we needed. The day went perfectly, from beginning to end. Thanks so much, Ashley and Nick, for the opportunity to spend your special day with you. This was definitely an awesome way to end my year!
