Here’s a little sneak peek for mom – these three needed updated head shots, so we went on a mission to capture them. Lucky for me, the sun was finally showing itself. I missed the sun!

My favorite shot of the day has to be of little Ella. Who can resist vibrant blue eyes and wild blonde hair on a four-year-old? Pair that with the beautiful light and I was in heaven!

When I said earlier this week that Allana and Jeremy were a gorgeous couple, I wasn’t kidding! These two rocked my lens with their good looks and laid-back personalities. The only unfortunate part about the session was the lack of sunlight. Now that I am ready to get back into my groove, I want some beautiful, golden rays ready to go for my sessions! Allana, Jeremy, and I agreed that we would take a second shot at this session next week. Can’t wait – hopefully the sun and clouds will cooperate this time!

I feel so fortunate to be asked by Calvina to second with her on this fun celebration in Sausalito. Lexie and Nick carefully organized their special day to include a ceremony at a small church in town (Sausalito Presbyterian), and then a reception immediately following at Ondine restaurant on the water. The location was beautiful, the details were incredibly eye-catching, and the couple was definitely lovely too. What a great wedding to be a part of!

My first job of the day was to grab shots of Nick and his groomsmen. As a second shooter, the job often includes capturing the portion of the wedding party that the main photographer is not working with.

Next, I helped Calvina tag-team the ceremony:

Next, we work together to capture as many shots of the wedding party and bride and groom as we can.

Posting this gorgeous wedding was necessary for my sanity this week. I’m not going to sugar-coat things – baby Zeke’s arrival has been rough for me. The weird sleep schedules, the physical pain and emotional rollercoaster that I am on as a new mom (In addition to balancing things with three little girls)… This has tested me over the past few weeks. I have an overwhelming need to feel normal – whether it means going out for a couple of hours with my hot husband, going for a jog, or just posting a blog full of beautiful wedding pictures. So I guess you could say that my job is therapeutic – and what an amazing thing to be able to claim! It has been a bit frustrating that it took me three days to get this post together since Zeke requires so much of my attention right now, but I am very pleased with the results.

I expect to see much more on the blog in the next few weeks due to the fact that I begin shooting again in about a week. Two engagement sessions, and then two weddings with Aimee Fredy of White Daisy Photography. I am definitely looking forward to it!

This wedding is one that I shot last October with Jessica Cole. I am thankful for the opportunity to second on this wedding with Jessica – it was a blast! The celebration had been a long time coming – Betsey and Jared had dated for several years, and the anticipation of their nuptials made the day an extremely happy yet emotional one. The celebration was held at a private family residence in Lincoln, California, and Betsey and Jared did a lovely job of planning it. Congrats to these two!

Betsey and Jared served pie instead of cake to go along with their country theme.

Just in case you have stumbled across my blog recently without linking first as a friend from Facebook, let me introduce you to the newest member of my family! Zeke Marek Vaughn Gerhart was born on Wednesday, March 23rd at 6:01 pm. He weighed in at 8 pounds, 14 ounces (ouch!) and 20 1/2 inches long, and all five of us are very much in love with him. Five days after his birth, we had the pleasure of having the lovely Jessica Cole come into our home to capture the first images of our gorgeous little bundle.

In addition to showing off my beautiful little guy, I want to use this post to remind current and prospective clients that I will not be booking as many weekend sessions this year. My weddings and engagement sessions have taken up the bulk of my weekends for the year, and I will be focusing more on my family and spending time with my new little one. Sunday and weekday evenings may be available for small sessions, but please contact me as soon as possible to find out my availability for the dates you are interested in.
