I just couldn’t resist posting SOMETHING from this wedding – I had an amazing time with great people and the best light you could ask for in the middle of a summer day. Not to mention the fact that the bride and groom were sooooo good-looking and their guests knew how to GET DOWN! I can’t wait to post some images from the reception too! Breanne and John, thanks for being such a rockin’ couple!

Bre’s smile is so contagious!

I was excited to get back from a recent vacation to Maui because I knew I would be coming home to a session with this little sweetheart. Shayna and Mike (you can see their maternity session here)welcomed their son Maximus into the world last Friday, and he is gorgeous! Once again, I feel blessed to be a part of so many important steps in this little family’s life together. Here is a small peek into our time together.

Maximus-sized tie created by Jacklyn Johnson of Trew Luv.

Every once in a while, I get time in my schedule to organize my own family members for a fun little shoot. This session took place right before the onset of wedding season – which is the only reason it happened in the first place!

I think it’s very important to have family portraits done as often as possible. The great thing about shooting your own family is that you get awesome shots of the people you love the most, and there’s no pressure. :-)

I am so in love with this little girl. She reminds me so much of me when I was younger – she’s a quick-witted, vibrant little thing with big attitude. And she kind of looks like me too! (Can I have her, Ty?)

In rare cases, I have had requests from clients to see a full wedding edited from start to finish. If you are one of these people, this post is for you! This is the longest wedding post I have ever created, and I am not sure I will ever publish one this lengthly again. In addition, Rachel and Dave will be receiving a couple hundred more pictures on their wedding disk, but this is the bulk of my absolute favorites.

Rachel decided that she wanted a very colorful celebration, so she chose to dress her wedding in purple, blue, green, red, and black. I was pleasantly surprised at the color scheme – I’ve never worked with such a colorful bride! As a result, I went crazy shooting the vibrant details, and I have been looking forward to this post for weeks!

Rachel and Dave, thank you for booking me so last minute. You are an awesome couple, and I adored your wedding party. I truly feel that people are often a reflection of those who surround them, and your friends and family take the cake!

My way of beating the icky-day blues is to post a lovely sunny-day session. (However, this is not a good excuse for you to stay away in June, sun. Get it together already!) Jennifer and Michael chose me to shoot their September wedding, and I am thrilled to capture this sweet couple’s celebration at Sun City Lincoln’s Orchard Creek Lodge. Jennifer planned for us to meet at Sierra College in Rocklin for a session in the Nature Trail Preserve. If you have the chance to walk the trails, they are beautiful! However, here are a few things to prepare for…

We made sure to watch for the local residents:

And I armed us with the proper outdoor product, which was a lifesaver:

After that, we were on our way!

And remember these shoes from last week? I LOVED the bright color, and remember that I said you would be surprised at who the designer was?

The designer is NASCAR! Check out the checkered flag running down the soles:

I am proud to announce that one of my recent weddings was chosen again to be published in Real Weddings Magazine. Tiffanie and Cody’s wedding (which you can see here) took place last November and was featured in this season’s edition of the magazine. Thank you to Aimee and Wendy of the Real Weddings staff – these ladies were extremely patient with me as I attempted to get entries together for them in a timely manner.

The magazine is full of great planning ideas and a peek into weddings happening at venues here in the greater Sacramento area and beyond. You can view the Real Weddings website here, or “Like” their Facebook page.

Meet Brookelyn! She was born May 16, but has been in the hospital with respiratory problems since. I was so excited to hear that her family brought her home this week since I intended to use her to test out my newborn skills. I have never attempted a true newborn session before, so I am pretty pleased with my results. More to come soon!

Special thanks to Jacklyn Johnson of Trew Luv for the gorgeous head band! Head over to her Etsy site to see more!
