One of the greatest things about being a photographer is the DIVERSITY in the types of sessions you can offer. While I consider myself a “wedding photographer”, I also enjoy sessions that include newborns, families, children, and boudoir photography. In the middle of wedding season and shooting back-to-back weddings, a pleasant reprieve can be found in these smaller sessions. Because of this (and all of my HUNDREDS of other reasons), I love my job.

Meet Ellie, the daughter of one of my oldest friends. Ellie turns one today, so her mother is using this session to both document the one-year mark AND for modeling purposes. This sweet little girl has been competing in pageants since February, and it’s no surprise that she has accumulated an impressive pile of trophies over the past few months. (Believe me, I have been in her room – I’ve seen them!)

Happy birthday to Ellie! And thank you, Melissa, for allowing me to document some of her most important milestones and activities!

Is it bad that I found this image to be slightly amusing after all we put Ellie through during this session tonight? Sorry Melissa!
