Let me emphasize that this is ONLY a small peek at the deliciousness that was Andrea and Fred’s shindig. You could say that these 22 pictures are just a handful of my favorites, and a rather large post will follow soon. Meet my friend Heidi! She has been booking sessions for her beautiful family with me for years now, and is also working dilligently on getting a photography business off the ground. I was convinced that Melissa and Jonathan were expecting a little girl, and so were many of their friends and family. Melissa, however, thought all along that it felt like a boy. Turns out mommy knows best – Logan James was born August 21st, less than two weeks after this session took place.
This post is a good example of how sessions go when toddlers are involved – they have a very limited attention span and pictures go according to their schedule, not ours. Little Lance was a SUPER cutie:
But I am sure that many parents can relate to THIS, especially on picture day!
So we let Lance relax and do his own thing for a while…
Lance soon decided that pictures might not be SO bad:

And then our session completely changed direction with the appearance of an unexpected guest. With the introduction of this little guy, Lance became instantly animated:

When Jessie contacted me on my blog about an engagement session, I was excited to learn about her ideas on locations. Jessie grew up in the river towns, and wanted to have her session take place in a few different areas along the Sacramento River.
We started in a pear orchard off I-5, took a small drive into Locke, and then ended our session in Walnut Grove. It was unfortunate that we ran out of light early – I would have loved another hour with this adorable couple.

I thought I had small fingers at a size 4 1/2 – Jessie’s are so small that Reid had to have this ring custom-made to fit her little ring finger. This is a big pear, but Jessie’s ring size would be about a 3 3/4 if that size existed!
