Here is a quick look at one of my June couples – full post to follow. LOVED the colors, the couple and the LOVE!

Lyndsey and Eric – September 17, 2011, Wine and Roses in Lodi, California

Whenever I can, I try to get the complete story from my bride and groom in order to blog their special day. Lyndsey and Eric were a dream. The pictures say everything that I am not eloquent enough to tell in words, and Lyndsey is going to tell the rest. Here it is, in her own words:
“Eric and I met in Chico, CA. At the time I was living downtown Chico in a cute little victorian home with two of my bridesmaids (Lindsey Burnham & Sarah Scritchfield). It was summer time and us girls decided to invite some people over for some drinks and games. I had just met Eric’s friend Keola, who we invited to come over, and he brought Eric with him. After that fun night with the boys I continued to hang out with Eric more and more often. Eric and I became good friends, which eventually led to us both falling for one another!
It was a random summer day when Eric decided to pop the question – Friday July 9, 2010, to be exact. I knew he had something nice planned for me, but I was not expecting a proposal! The day started by waking up to my favorite latte from It’s a Grind. After I finished getting ready we were off to Lodi, CA for some afternoon wine tasting. Throughout the day we tasted at five different wineries, ending at Harmony Wynelands. Our last wine tasting was a champagne tasting, and the server suggested we take the tasting outside to check out the garden area. I agreed and Eric suddenly had to go pee (he was really getting the ring)! So as I am waiting for him outside in the garden for like ten minutes, he eventually comes out with two wine glasses full of champagne. I immediately cheers him and he replies, “Look down at your glass!” So I looked down and hanging from a ribbon at the bottom of my glass was a beautiful diamond ring! I couldn’t believe it! “Is this for real?!” “Yes!”
Oh and that’s not all folks…So after all the tastings I was ready for bed, but Eric had more planned! He had dinner reservations at the Rio City Cafe in old town Sacramento that we had to make on time. As we walked into the restaurant we turned the corner and there sat both of our families and friends! I can say that was one of the best days of my life!”
Lyndsey and Eric, thank you for sharing your story AND your day with me and so many others. I feel blessed to have such comfortable relationships with the people who hire me. Congrats on your wedding, and I hope your marriage is as magical as your wedding day was.
LOVE it when my couples share a first look moment! I think it’s much more intimate than sharing that moment with hundreds of other people.
This was a total accident – just the result of the sun hitting my lens at a certain angle. But I love it nonetheless!
I must mention that this post would not be possible without Katherine of Katherine Vess Photography. Thank you, girl!

I totally believe that these little post-session peeks are necessary for me AND my clients’ sanity. I love seeing what ends up coming out of the camera, and so do they. I take the Sables’ family portraits every year, partially because Melissa is my BFF and she loves me AND my work.
One of the biggest benefits of taking pictures of people you already know is that they are up for new ideas and locations. This awesome spot was just waiting for me and this family. LOVE it.
Isn’t she beautiful?

While Jyl Torrens keeps Colusa County children dancing and developing, she has also been growing something special of her own. Jyl and her husband Matt welcomed Bauer into the world last week, and he is one of the most alert newborns I have ever seen! Most of our session, Bauer was more interested in checking out what was going on around him than sleeping. Luckily, he did finally settle down for a few sleepy shots. Thank you, Jyl and Matt, for the opportunity to capture some of Bauer’s first moments. He is certainly a sweetheart.

This sweet family was referred to me by my best friend. Vinny and Jenny have 2 1/2-year-old twins, and they were so adorable… But Emily and Jillian made me work for my shots! Here are a few to hold them over until I can finish their package.

Here’s a quick look at my evening tonight. Sabrina and I ran all over the area with her in multiple outfits in order to get as many gorgeous shots of her as possible. Here is a little proof that we were successful. You look hot, girl!
The Lorenzen Kids – Holiday Session – Williams, California

Here’s a quick look into how family sessions are going this season. I decided I would only do limited sessions this year due to my heavy wedding season. Add that to the fact that it’s baby Zeke’s first year… I’m a pretty busy mommy. I would like to take this opportunity to remind future (and return) clients that you should definitely attempt to book next year’s holiday portraits as early as possible. Making plans for family photo sessions could even be considered as early as June and July. Photo schedules fill up fast – don’t miss out on an opportunity to book!
Now, enjoy this teaser for the Lorenzen children and their mommy.
