The last time I spent any time with my cousins David, Sheri and Hannah was in 2006 when I spent an afternoon taking family portraits for them in the fall. I am not going to post those pictures because my photography has grown SO MUCH since then, and it would just be embarrassing. However, Sheri contacted me recently because she and David are expecting another little girl at the beginning of April. Sheri looks fantastic in her second pregnancy, and I was thrilled at the chance to capture the family in their *new* home. I have to admit that I got a bit carried away with little Hannah – she was just so charming! She did so well in front of the camera, loving on the belly like she had never even seen it before. :-) And even though it was icky and rainy outside, we had a great time indoors!

David and Sheri, I promise that there is much, much more to come!

Karen’s Maternity Session

Hurray for *new* clients getting ready to have a *new* baby at the beginning of a *new* year! Karen and Nick are a SUPER fun couple who put up with my shenanigans for about two hours of maternity session fun. I am being semi-sarcastic here due to the fact that maternity sessions tend to be quite taxing on women who are dealing with the side affects of pregnancy. But Karen handled our session so well, and she and Nick helped me come up with some fun shots. Even their incredibly protective dog Bear allowed me to get some nice pictures with him!

Baby Elise is due in March, and I can’t wait to help welcome her into the world! Karen and Nick intend to have me there for delivery room portraits and a newborn session a couple weeks following Elise’s arrival. I’m so excited! Thanks for allowing me to capture your special moments, you two. :-)

Kara’s Maternity Session

I have been holding on to this session for a couple of weeks because it was a present from one of my best friends to the soon-to-be mommy. It was really hard to resist posting these shots because I felt so fortunate to capture Kara’s beautiful belly. Kara was so patient with me and my crazy ideas! And isn’t she gorgeous?

A few weeks ago I did a maternity session with Tammy and her family. Just the other day, I found this image as I was putting the final adjustments on her pictures. I don’t know what it is about this picture, but it just makes me feel warm and fuzzy. So I thought I would share. :-)

The Gagnon family

Meet my niece, Jaidyn. I know – she’s beautiful. I just can’t get enough of her! Remember how mom would always say, “You don’t understand how much I love you, and you won’t understand until you have kids of your own…” Well Mom never warned me about how much I would love my nieces and nephews! And while it’s a love that is completely different than with your own children, it’s still comparable.

Back to Jaidyn. She is due to become a big sister on my birthday in September, and I couldn’t be more excited! Another newborn in the family to photograph – it’s a portrait photographer’s happy place, for sure. :-) I am scheduling another maternity session with my sister Tyla in a month or so, when the belly grows a little larger. Ah, the benefits of having a photographer in the family! Sometimes beneficial for everyone but me!

Last Saturday I spent my evening with this Tammy and her family. Scott and Tammy are expecting their second little boy, Ryder, in August.

Doesn’t Tammy have one of the most beautiful bellies you have ever seen?!

Tyler is an AMAZING little boy! He was so much fun during the session, and his laughter is completely contagious. At times I was laughing so hard that I couldn’t even hold my camera up! I can imagine how adorable the new little bundle will be if he is anything like older brother Tyler.

I couldn’t resist posting this picture from Cayla’s session. Her little nursery was so sweet!

I had an awesome time shooting Katrina and Jason this weekend. They are expecting their first baby next month – a sweet little girl named Lilly. I have so many more shots from our session, but not enough time to post them!

Welcome to my little corner of the blogging world! After keeping up a Livejournal for 5 1/2 years, I came to the conclusion that my photography deserved it’s own spot to shine, and here it is! This blog is going to require a bit of work before I can get it exactly where I want it, but that mirrors my photography career – a work in progress. I intend to continue seeing my style develop and evolve, and this is the place I have chosen to display it.

Of course, for my first official blog entry I have to leave some shots from my most recent shoot! Recently I had the pleasure of shooting Chastity and her family. I met Chastity at Phillip and Katrina’s wedding – she was one of Katrina’s bridesmaids. I had fallen in love with her little boy, Keith, at the wedding and – lucky for me – I got another chance to capture his gorgeous little self today! What an awesome family!

I am hoping to see this family again in a couple of months when the new baby girl arrives. I am keeping my schedule flexible at that time so I can plan for her arrival!
