In rare cases, I have had requests from clients to see a full wedding edited from start to finish. If you are one of these people, this post is for you! This is the longest wedding post I have ever created, and I am not sure I will ever publish one this lengthly again. In addition, Rachel and Dave will be receiving a couple hundred more pictures on their wedding disk, but this is the bulk of my absolute favorites.

Rachel decided that she wanted a very colorful celebration, so she chose to dress her wedding in purple, blue, green, red, and black. I was pleasantly surprised at the color scheme – I’ve never worked with such a colorful bride! As a result, I went crazy shooting the vibrant details, and I have been looking forward to this post for weeks!

Rachel and Dave, thank you for booking me so last minute. You are an awesome couple, and I adored your wedding party. I truly feel that people are often a reflection of those who surround them, and your friends and family take the cake!

Ashley and Nick are the sweetest couple! We spent yesterday afternoon shooting their engagement session – even at the risk of rain – because their wedding is this Sunday. They scheduled their special day right after Christmas due to the fact that Nick has been stationed with the military in Alabama. He is currently on leave for the holiday, so he and Ashley planned their wedding around his break.

Because of Nick being away so much for his job, I told Ashley we would shoot their engagement session less than a week before the wedding… AND get a matted print to display for their celebration before Sunday. Lucky for us, the rain held off until the very end of our session and we had an awesome time! I love this couple, and I am so thankful they trusted me to capture the memories of one of the most important days of their life together. See you two on Sunday!

It was soooo cold outside that we decided to step inside a small coffee shop in the area. There, the lovebirds ordered a snack for two:

As my year of photography is coming to a close, I am super thankful for all the awesome clients who have trusted me with capturing their memories. My job is (in my opinion) the best job in the world. I get to travel, spend time with amazing people, and receive their gratitude when they allow ME to shoot their special events. How could this job get any better?!

In additon, the demand for my work is increasing steadily as my clients continue to pass on my name to their friends and family. Those people who have made it a solid habit to refer me out to others have been the foundation of my business. You all know who you are, and I can’t begin to tell you how special you are to me. I feel blessed to know that there are so many people out there who believe in me and the quality of work that I do.

Because I am fortunate to have a job that I love, I have been reluctant in the past to raise my prices. I have been told that the quality of my work and the packages I provide are worth far more than I charge, however, I pride myself on giving the best possible packages to my clients. As of January 1st 2011, my small session prices will increase to $200.00. They still include travel to the greater Sacramento area and the counties of Colusa, Sutter, and Yuba. Small travel fees may apply for any sessions out of this area. I’m still offering what I have always offered in a fun and upbeat photo session with amazing memories being captured for your family to enjoy. Weddings and other large events take extra special handling, so please contact me if you would like to discuss your event.

In close, I hope everyone is thoroughly enjoying their holiday seasons. And what kind of post would this be if I didn’t include a fun image at the end? This is my best friend’s daughter, and we grabbed this shot last-minute before the sun went down. She looks so peaceful to me.

It’s a Happy Thanksgiving post!

I had an awesome time this summer in Sonoma while shooting Stacey and Shawn’s engagement session. (If you missed that post, you can find it here.) The wedding this October was just as beautiful. Stacey and Shawn chose an amazing destination location for their ceremony, and so many of their friends and family flew to join them. Seeing so many people come together to celebrate this couple was completely heart-warming… And totally understandable. Being my first couple from the Colusa County area that I have had the pleasure of capturing, I was also incredibly pleased to find out what beautiful hearts these two have. I feel blessed to be a part of this special day in the amazing journey of their life together.

Another blessing was being able to shoot beside the awesome Calvina. This post only contains my images, but I am sure that after I see Calvina’s shots from the day, there may have to be a part two. :-) In addition, you can probably see her hiding in some of my images below if you look closely.

Congratulations to Stacey and Shawn – you two deserve the wonderful family and friends you have by your sides.

Stacey’s niece and flower girl is so beautiful:

The ceremony took place alongside an awesome orchid garden at Plantation Gardens Restaurant:

The blooms could be found everywhere. It was so gorgeous. <3

Stacey and Shawn’s ring bearer wasn’t too interested in pictures, but Shawn is a GREAT uncle already, and he “flew” the little guy right into the picture. :-)

Time for some one-on-one time at the beach:

Here’s a second part to my recent favorite family portrait session. This family always knows how to have fun during one of my sessions, and I just love what we came up with! As I was finishing up their session, too many of the images were causing me to get a big, goofy grin on my face. So here is part two!

While shooting Andrea and Fred’s session, we ran into many obstacles that kept us from capturing some of the shots we were looking for. In photography world, obstacles = time, and time = less sunlight. So, needless to say, by the time we were about halfway through the session, we completely ran out of light. I was NOT happy. And you know, if the photographer’s not happy, then things just aren’t going to go well! So Andrea, Fred, and I have scheduled a second part to this shoot. Here is part one, and part two will follow shortly. :-)

Yet another wedding that I just couldn’t get enough of – the colors and location were just a photographer’s dream! I would definitely have to recommend the Firehouse to any future brides shopping for a venue – the patio is lovely for an evening reception.

Congrats Nicole and Dan! I hope you enjoy this little preview half as much as I enjoyed capturing and editing them. Best wishes for a beautiful future together. :-)

It SEEMS a little early for this post, but it truly is not. Fall is right around the corner, and holiday portrait sessions will be booking up fast. Unfortunately, this year will book up even faster than previous years due to my busy schedule. In addition to wedding season running longer than usual, my husband and I recently found out that we are expecting another baby in March. My normal hectic running-around-like-a-crazy-woman schedule will probably not work for a pregnant woman this fall, so I will only be offering limited photo sessions. Four sessions per month during September, October, and November will likely be my max, so I strongly encourage families to book sessions now. All bookings will require a $50 non-refundable deposit to hold the date, especially with weekend sessions being most popular. Below are available weekend dates for fall sessions:

Sunday, September 12
Sunday, September 19
Saturday, September 25
Sunday, October 3
Sunday, October 17
Saturday, October 30
Sunday, November 7
Saturday, November 13
Sunday, November 14
Saturday, November 20
Sunday, November 21

Please contact me for available weekdays, including Fridays. It is unlikely that I will book sessions Monday through Wednesday, but other weekday sessions are possible. It is my goal to not stretch myself too thin and risk my health throughout this pregnancy, so once I book four sessions, the month WILL be closed.

I am leaving you with a lovely portrait that Aimee of White Daisy Photography captured during the small family ceremony Luke and I held in Hawaii with our girls. I will post many more soon, but there hasn’t been time for Aimee to crank out more than this fun little teaser. :-)
