Welcome to the newest addition to my family… My niece Jorgia! She was such a sweet, sleepy little peanut and did so well for her first pictures. More coming soon!

Loving this little girl! Her parents went through so much in order to conceive her and bring her into this world… And she’s SO worth it!

While Jyl Torrens keeps Colusa County children dancing and developing, she has also been growing something special of her own. Jyl and her husband Matt welcomed Bauer into the world last week, and he is one of the most alert newborns I have ever seen! Most of our session, Bauer was more interested in checking out what was going on around him than sleeping. Luckily, he did finally settle down for a few sleepy shots. Thank you, Jyl and Matt, for the opportunity to capture some of Bauer’s first moments. He is certainly a sweetheart.

Just a little preview of what I’m working on this week… Remember the contest winner Kim? Here she is with her sweet hubby. I intend to share the rest of her family pictures soon!
And a couple shots of the Holt family from last week:
And, as I mentioned Sunday night, I did a small shoot with my girls. Unfortunately, we are going to have to call this one a work in progress. Despite the fact that they did so well, as soon as we got to our location, brother fell asleep and kids started feeling sick. See why I never shoot my kids?!
I love this shot of my sweet, sensitive girl:

So much to look forward to this month! Lovin’ it!

I have so many images that I love from this session, but here’s just one for his mama. I will have to unveil his cute little mohawk in the full post.

As many wedding photographers know, each wedding season is different from the last. One date in September may be in high demand one year, while a date in May might be popular the next. This year, August is my dry spot. Hey, prospective brides – I understand! Who wants to get married in the August heat anyway?! So due to my light August schedule, I am running a contest from now until August 8th at midnight. To enter, send me a message with a reason why I should choose you as the lucky winner of one August evening photo session. In this situation, creativity definitely counts! I will be sending the submissions anonymously to a panel of judges who will choose the most convincing story as the winner. And now for the rules…
- Offer limited to persons who “like” Trizza Grantham Photography on Facebook
- You must intend to take advantage of the offer in the month of August
- Session must take place within 50 miles of the Sacramento area
- Please don’t be stingy – tell all of your friends!
- The session schedule must work around the schedule of Trizza Grantham Photography. Weekend dates are unavailable. Please plan to have your session on a weeknight around 6:30pm.
-The session can be from any category including the following: family, children, newborn, engagement, maternity, seniors, or boudoir
- Winners will be announced on Wednesday, August 10th
And because I can’t post without including an image from a recent session, here is a little something to enjoy… A few more from Aubree and Mathew’s session.

I was excited to get back from a recent vacation to Maui because I knew I would be coming home to a session with this little sweetheart. Shayna and Mike (you can see their maternity session here)welcomed their son Maximus into the world last Friday, and he is gorgeous! Once again, I feel blessed to be a part of so many important steps in this little family’s life together. Here is a small peek into our time together.

Meet Brookelyn! She was born May 16, but has been in the hospital with respiratory problems since. I was so excited to hear that her family brought her home this week since I intended to use her to test out my newborn skills. I have never attempted a true newborn session before, so I am pretty pleased with my results. More to come soon!
Special thanks to Jacklyn Johnson of Trew Luv for the gorgeous head band! Head over to her Etsy site to see more!

A couple of months ago, I had the pleasure of spending an afternoon with Karen and Nick for a maternity session. Remember their family? Even Bear was impatiently awaiting Elise’s arrival!
Since their session, I have been SUPER excited for Elise to be born. And just look at her! A full head of dark hair and perfect little features… I’m so lucky! And so are the new parents.
Congratulations Karen and Nick!
That’s got to be one of the cutest noses I have ever seen!

Before I talk about the Choi family, I have to apologize to my awesome clients for being slightly behind on my blogging this week. I am working hard to catch up, and if you haven’t seen your session yet, I promise it’s coming!
I met Mary on Livejournal about a year or more ago. During this time, I have been reading (and watching) her family develop and grow into a beautifully perfect little foursome. Fortunately for me, Mary and her husband Jin have been watching my photography evolve into what it is today. This past week, the Choi family paid me the greatest compliment possible – they let me capture them in their home in the Bay area.
Another thing I had to mention is that Mary designs her own jewelry! I spied her amber ring while we were shooting today, and I thought it was SO beautiful! You can find Mary’s Etsy page here.
Mary and Jin, thank you for following my artistic journey so far. I enjoyed finally meeting your lovely family, and I hope to spend many more days capturing your family in the future! And Mary, to answer your question – it was definitely worth the trip!
